Bulleted Font Size Switch Order

I have picked up a PPT presentation that I need to make adjustments to.
Many of the slides show bulleted text, nested 3 deep in 'Title and Text'
layout.
I trying to copy the data into a "Tile and 2-Column Text' layout.
My problem is the relative font size for the bullets change.
For example, the original sizes are 16, 12, 8 per nested level.
After I copy the text to the "Tile and 2-Column Text' layout, the font sizes
are 5, 6, 4. Why would the second level bullet font size become larger than
the first level bullet? And more importantly - How do I prevent this?

Thanks,
- Pat

Unfortunately reapplying doesn't fix it. FYI, the amount of text is large
with the text extending beyond the slide.

What's interesting is the results of these two test cases.
1. I populated a 'Title and Text' slide with three bullets each having 1
subbullet (18 & 16 font size). They were short and easily fit on the slide.
I changed the layout to 'Tile and 2-Column Text'. Applied and Reapplied the
layout. Everything worked as expected. The left text box was populated with
size adjustment (12 & 10 font size).

2. Made a copy of the initial 'Title and Text' slide above. Appended a
duplicate copy of the bullets. Slide auto-adjusted size (12 & 10 font size
now). I changed the layout to 'Tile and 2-Column Text'. Applied and
Reapplied the layout. The text extends beyond the slide display with fonts
size changed (8 & 10 font size). Why the switch in font size order? Humm?

Please check to see if this is the same for you. I am using PowerPoint 2003.

Thanks,
- Pat

If you reapply the slide layout, does that sort it out?

Without seeing the file, it's hard to say. When I do this here (or at least
what I think you're doing) on a new blank file, I can't repro it.

If you go to View | Master | Slide Master, what font sizes are in the
placeholder there for each level?
