Need your help here people!!

I just built this new system... Abit NF7-S 2.0, AMD 2600+
Barton, PowerColor Radeon 9700 Pro, 512 MB Corsair DDRAM,
Maxtor 80 gig Ultra ATA/133 hard drive, and Thermaltake
Xaser III case w/ 420 Watt power supply.

Got it all together last night and tried to get it going,
the first thing that came up was a messge saying the CPU
was changed so I rebooted and went to the BIOS. In the
greyed out part it has my CPU running at 1150MHZ (100x11.5)
but underneath (in the part that I can change) the numbers
are set up at the 2600 level. I rebooted and didn't see the
error again. The post screen shows the CPU as a 2600 so I
guess it's okay??

I then tried installing Win 2000 Pro... The first time, I
first ran the Maxtor CD to format the disk and sliced it
into 10 gig pieces. I tried installing Win onto drive C and
it was doing good and then it started to come up with a
BOATLOAD of files it couldn't install, some of the files I
could install by hitting enter again but most I couldn't. I
then got a message saying there was a page fault in a non
paged area and that if I never got this message before to
go into BIOS and turn off system cache and video cache. I
did that rebooted, reformatted into 1 80 gig drive and had
the problem with page fault again. I switched the memory
from banks 2 and 3 to banks 1 and 2, did all of the above
again and STILL it won't let me install WIN!!!!!

I disabled some things in the BIOS hoping that would work
but it didn't so I'm STUCK!! Luckily I only have 5 feet to
the window and a 10 foot drop to the ground which is where
it's gonna be if I can't get this figured out

You'll want to boot the Windows 2000 setup disks or CD-Rom. The set of four
install disks can be created from your Windows 2000 CD-Rom; change to the
\bootdisk directory on the CD-Rom and execute makeboot.exe (from dos) or
makebt32.exe (from 32 bit) and follow the prompts.

Then *F6* very early and very important (at setup is inspecting your system)
in the setup to prevent drive controller detection, and select S to specify
additional drivers. Then later you'll be prompted to insert the manufacturer
supplied Windows 2000 driver for your ultra ATA controller in drive "A"

If you wait and then S to specify additional drivers, then it may be too
late as Windows 2000 Setup at this point may have already assigned the
resources your drive's controller is wanting to use.

When you get to the point, delete the existing NTFS and or other partitions
found. After you delete the partition(s) abort the install, then again
restart the pc booting the CD-Rom or setup disks to avoid unexpected drive
letter assignments with your new install.
