Bug in Startmenu

G

Guest

If I move the mouse over any item in the startmenu, my profile-picture
disappears. It seems it'll change into the icon of the item I move the mouse
to, but it doesn't.

I've found some other bugs. Can I send the screenshots to a site or
mail-address?

That function works fine here, you may want to check the display drivers and
the strength of your video card.

Screenshots are rarely necessary, you should use the feedback button on the
desktop to file any bug reports you have. If you feel it is absolutely
necessary to convey your point, you can include saved screenshots as
additional files to upload.

I agree about the screenshots. Usually the recorder tool obviates the need
for screenshots.

I have tried to figure that out for others. If you right click on an icon
and select open file location you usually can find the executable. However
this is an html file and is launched by the html application host. I
believe that is mshta in \Windows\System32. I sent an email to
(e-mail address removed) asking for instructions, but I have not heard back.
There is nothing in the Control Panel/Programs and Features/Turn Windows
features On Or Off that helps or in the Software Explorer.

Hi,

I am not sure what you are seeing is a bug, but a feature. When I mouse
over the right side of the Start menu my profile icon does change to
match the item the pointer is over. For example, if I let the pointer
hover over the network icon my profile picture changes to the network
icon. This happens for every item on the right side of the Start menu.
It doesn't occur on the left (program list) side.

Try entering this into run, or create a shortcut to it:

%SystemRoot%\system32\mshta.exe %SystemRoot%\system32\feedback.hta

Thanks Erik. I kept the icon on the desktop but I was trying to help
someone else and needed that advice. Does that restore the icon to the
desktop or just call the page?

Thanks, that is what I was looking for.
