BSOD installation - PNF_LIST_CORRUPT

When I try and install Vista (the x86 version) at some point during the
"Expanding Files" stage of the installation, the installer will go to a BSOD
which says PNF_LIST_CORRUPT and some useless advice. Has anyone else had this
problem when installing Vista? It can't be a problem with the disc - it has
worked fine before.

try unplugging any not needed devices (printer, UPS, etc...), and in the bios, disable any not needed devices (usb, serial, parallel, etc...)
try again.
