browser will only follow links and historical sites, not new URLs entered in add

greedy

My browser has stopped following new URLs entered from the
address bar. following existing links or auto-prompted
URLs (in the address bar) from historically visited sites,
work fine.

The problem started after installing some MS patches and
the Panda Titanium anti-virus software (since un-
installed).

Any ideas how I can fix things

Can you get to the sites if you include the http://www.... in front of the
url?

If yes then definitely you have been hacked.

Rule out parasites.
