Browser start page hijack

Frank

Hi:

My IE's Default_home_page, local page and start page have
been hijacked. I managed to delete the file that the start
page (and other two settings) direct to, but couldnot get
rid of those settings, not even from WINDOWS registry. Ad-
awre and Xcleaner software couldnot help either. Now
everytime IE fires up, it will search for the file
named "secure.html" which was deleted by me from
C:\WINDOWS\. Could anyone help? Many thanks indeed?

First eliminate any scumware.

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each needs to be updated before every use, even when just
downloaded. There's also a lot more to do than just those two programs.

If trying everything at that site does not fix the problem please post back

Can't help, sorry, but have same problem. I'm not
knowledgable enough to delete any files amnd I can't find
an alien programme to delete. My system restore has also
been affected so I cannot restore to previous settings.
If you get a solution I should be grateful if you could
forward to me.
