I've downloaded several programs that are suppose to
detect & get rid of "hijacker programs"...they all detect
and delete the new programs it detects but just as soon as
I bring up IE and click on search...it comes up with some
stupid search program called "DRSNSEARCH.COM"...anybody
out there KNOW how to permeantly delete this goofy hijack
program?

Try disabling your System Restore feature. You will lose all your restore
points, but this eliminates a hiding place for some of the nastier
hijackers, worms, trojans and so on. Run your scans after stopping System
Restore, reboot and see if they come back. Do a Google search for
"drsnsearch.com" and see what information you can get.

I'm running WIN98 SE & I can't find a "system restore"
option...I've also been to the site & there is nothing
there of value concerning my problem...not even a contact
option...sure wish I could find someone that knew how to
get rid of this thing

HiJackThis! doesn't delete anything. It just gives you a list of stuff
it finds. Typically you would want to submit its output to various online
forums for others to help you analyse. (not here because of bandwidth
and size considerations for NNTP users.)
