browser not saving home page, can anybody help?

hey, i've set a custom home page on my computer before
and it's always gone to that page when i started internet
explorer. for some reason though, tonight when i'd been
on the internet for a while, i closed the explorer and
when i reopened it it went to "about:blank" ... i went to
internet properties in the browser and changed it back,
but the next time i opened internet explorer it went back
to about:blank. i also tried to set the home page
through the control panel and by right clicking the
explorer link on the desktop, but for some reason it
won'te seem to save the home page. can anybody help me
with this problem? thanks
