Broken Calendar Gadget

I've tried removing and reinstalling the calendar gadget with no success. It
suddenly went blank during the past week. Others have reported this
phenomenon. Somebody suggested doing what I have already tried. The
calendar appears as a blank orange spiral notebook. Others have reported
trouble in South America with the same gadget reporting two February 3rds or
April 1sts. It is hard to imagine how to mismanage this badly the
programming of a calendar. The worst part of these "extras" is that they are
so confounded visible to the users. It does not encourage migration to
Vista. I wonder what Microsoft plans to do about it. Longtime users are
inured to this sort of thing.

Double click on the calendar. You will get the monthly view. It is by
design.

Sorry. Single click on the calendar. When in the monthly view, single click
on the present day to change to the daily view.

I'm having the same problem as William and no kind of clicking on the gadget does any good. It was working fine until a couple of weeks ago and suddenly went blank. The settings option at the upper right hand corner is not visible. Is there a reload download available from Microsoft? I don't have the original Windows disks since my computer was purchased with the OEM software preloaded.

These gadgets are written by users. So it could be that the version you are
running had a bug in it and they have updated the code to a more recent
version. It could be that the gadget is no longer supported. Really who
knows. As these are extras they are not coded by Microsoft nor are they
operated by Microsoft. They are done by users for users and uploaded to the
gallery.

So my first suggestion would be to try and see if there is a updated
Calendar Gadget out there that you could use. I personally have use the
Date V.6 in my sidebar and it has worked for me since I installed it.
Perhaps that can be a alternative if not a solution?
