Broadband internet slow downloads

i have 1Mbit connection but i never get a download speed
greater than 60kb/sec my p.c is quite upto date i would
like to know if there is anything i can do to increase my
download speeds i know the problem is not lack of
bandwidth from the internet site as if i do multible
downloads from different sites i still get stuck at
60kb/sec download speed can anyone help? e-mail

There can be a million reasons for this. You're better
off reading through some of the information at
http://www.dslreports.com and potentially asking this
there.

Also you are not guaranteed to get the max rate that you are signed up for.
Most ISPs only guarantee (half heartedly) approx 65-75% of your bandwidth.
Also rates of download will vary based upon 1) what your downloading and 2)
where it is coming from.

If you expect to get 1mb of bandwidth from a 1mb pipe while transferring a
file china and your in New York it is unlikely.
