Bridging windows 2000

hi,
I know that windows 2000 doesn´t support bridging, but i have a windows 2000
Server with two Nic´s installed and would like to load balance the network
traffic by the Nic´s. Is this possible?

Bridging has nothing to do with that anyway. Bridging is what a common
Switch does, so Window's bridging just makes the machine act like a two port
Switch. It has nothing to do with "load balancing.

Windows "load balancing" is for creating a "server cluster" with two
identical machines (not Nics) that have a single Nic in each machine.

This is not a Windows "thing". This is done with "specialized" Nics that
are designed to do this and come with thier own proprietary software to make
it happen. It has nothing to do with Windows.

Here is what happens with only Windows and a pair of normal Nics:

all the big brands, 3Com, Intel, etc offer server cards that do load
balancing. We have a pair of 10/100S cards in out DC, the cards are bonded
together in a "Team". they operate together as one card, load is equally
shared across the ports. The 10/100S can do 8 cards in this config, very
useful for big servers, or for fault tolerance.
