Both MM1 and MM2 on same computer

Does anyone sell a program (for people who have no tech ability at all) that would automatically do what is necessary when installed . . . to put both mm1 and mm2 on the same computer?
I've read that it is possible to have both on . . . and since some of my friends have mm1 and some have mm2 . . . it would be nice to be able to swith between them.

Thanks Bob.
I did read it. It's well written. However I don't understand half of the words or what they mean.
Many of us out here simply want to "use" something . . . and haven't the ability todo what we call "tech stuff". That's why it would be nice to just buy a disk and insert it and have it do the setup for us.
And . . . as it happens . . . I'm the only person we know with a computer . . . so I can't even go ask someone who might know how to.
But thanks for telling me about the site to check. It seems to have a lot of interesting stuff in it.

Hello there,

Assuming you have a CD burner on one of your friends machine.....try this

Copy to CD the contents only of the main movie maker version 1
directory...if there are any subdirectories copy them and their contents as
well (I doubt if there will be)

Take that CD home and on your machine create a directory inside C:\Program
Files perhaps call it MM1 in which case the directory structure will look
like this... C:\Program Files\MM1

Copy the entire contents of your CD into this new directory.

Using Windows Explorer find the movie maker exe file you just copied. Right
click the file and select COPY remove Windows Explorer and right click the
desktop and select PASTE. you should then select the option to create a
short cut which you can later rename to Movie Maker One

If my guess is right, you will now have both version on your system.

Good Luck !

Replying hypothetically as I have not done it. But I think one has to
register a few DLLs as well!

Sorry John
I should have mentioned that my "friends" live half way around the world.
Don't have anyone locally at all.
I'm the first one of the group of local friends to buy one.
But thank you for the info . . . and I shall save it . . . for when
someone I know locally buys a computer.
