bootstrap error for msn messenger

I saw an earlier posting on here about the error "error creating process <c:\
etc~\temp\1xp0000.temp\bootstrap.exe.msn>. reason the
system cannot find the path specified ... " on trying to install MSN messenger 6.1, which suggested cleaning out the temp folder. Im getting the same messge and emptying the temp folder doesnt work. Any other suggestions
would appreciate any info
