You have multiple hard drives in your computer?

If yes, physically disconnect all but the drive you want to install Vista
upon. After a successful install, shut down the computer and reconnect your
additional drives. You will likely see that the problem no longer exists.

I don't use RAID. I have never used RAID. You are on your own as I can't
assist you.

I can tell you that one other person I suggested this to did it and it
worked. After the fact he told me he was running in a RAID configuration.
Had I known before hand I would not have suggested this to him. But, he
says, it worked for him also.

Assuming it's hardware RAID you're talking about, the RAID set will appear
to Vista (and the system BIOS) as a single disk. Then, counting that as the
only disk, everything Richard said would be true.

It's Intel Matrix RAID.

That's hardware - so Vista won't even know it's there. Though I expect
you'll need to use the Intel drivers during install.
