1. Powered up computer, printer, monitor, speakers, Maxtor back-up drive
2. Turned on computer, printer, monitor, speakers, Maxtor back-up drive
3. Haven gotten following message each time computer has been booted

“Your SQL server installation is either corrupt or has been tampered with
(unable to load SQLBoot.DLL) Please uninstall then re-run setup to correct
this problem.â€

I have no idea what an SQL is and, even more importantly, have no idea how
anything could have been tampered with or corrupted when there wasn’t even
any power going to my computer or its accessories.

Could you please tell me what it means, what to uninstall and what to re-run
and how?

How could anything like this have happened while the computer was totally
powered down?

Thank you.

Thanks for the quick reply

There's just too much technical information in that article for me.

I'm becoming more knowledgeable, but I'm not there yet.

First it says to remove whatever via add/remove programs before removing it
manually. I looked in add/remove programs, but I didn't find what I was
looking for. Of course, since I don't even know what the SQL server is or
what it does, it stands to reason that I didn't find what I was looking for.

Next it said to purchase an SDK. I would hope that I can do this without
making a purchase.

Does the SQL server have anything to do with Service Pack 2? What is it and
what does it do?

The message is beginning to interfere with a lot of tasks that I'm trying to
do.

If possible, could you talk down to me just a little? Maybe direct me step
by step to just find it?

Thanks.
