Boot Problem

I've had this configaration for 4 years. I have a 20g HDD partitioned (5g
running win98, 15g running w2k pro sp4 build 2195) no new hardware or
software added. Only updates automatic windows updates and McAfee virusscan,
firewall and spamkiller.

Can boot to win98 no problem but It takes several tries to boot w2k, when it
fails to boot I get messages;
error missing or corrupt winnt/system32/config/systemced. or stop 0x00000067
(0x00000004, 0x00000007, 0x00000000) config_intialization_failed or error
0x00000074 (0x00000005, 0x00000007, 0x00000000) bad_system_config_info.

I have reformated both partitions and re-installed both operating systems
still have the same boot problem, I have run windows memory diagnostic and
memtest86 passed all test.

Any thoughts?
