That's cool that you got that fixed. :)

By the way, as an offshoot of your ongoing saga -- I bought a new imaging
program (Image for Windows from terabyteunlimited). I have Drive Image 7 as
well. Worked fine with my CD/RW but does not work with the current DVD/R
drive. Reading your thread, got me off my duff to find a new program that
would work with the current configuration. Gave it a spin, results were
good and can put the clunkier ASR tool (XP Pro) onto the back burner once
again.

I thank you and my computer thanks you too.
Thank you for the kudos, Sharon. I hated to use up so much time and
space for so many people, but as a scientist, I felt that even tho' I
could live with it unfixed, I still wanted to fix it. I'm delighted
that my efforts were able to help somebody.

Glad you finally got it worked out, Bill.
Well, I worked earnestly, and I thought logically, and
your advice all the way was certainly informative and
a great help in understanding things. But as you see from the
type of comments we get from some people in the newsgroup,
some people thought I was just too dumb to understand what
to do. As it turned out, there are hidden traps at several
places along the way, which I hope my final explanation
will help others to avoid. As for those people who are so
damn smart that they can't see the forest for the trees,
it must be wonderful to be perfect. I'm happy being human.
