Boot lockup

When I try to boot my laptop it locks up on the blue screen that displays
Microsoft Windows XP. It also locks up on same screen when trying to boot in
safe mode. I can't do any testing when the system will not boot. Can anyone
help.

Did you try "Last Known Good Configuration"
Did you try "Enable VGA"?

Have yuo done anything to yuor computer ie add/remove hardware or software?
What changed since last successful boot up?
