MSConfig is/was a Win98/Me utility, brought back in WinXP, which
is also targeted at the home consumer market. There is no equivalent
utility included with Win95/WinNT/Win2K.

C:\Boot.ini is a hidden, protected system file at the root of your
C: drive. You need to set Windows Explorer to display such files. In
Windows Explorer, Tools > Folder Options > View, select "Show hidden
files and folders," and deselect "Hide protected operating system
files."

Alternatively, from a command prompt, type:

1) "ATTRIB C:\BOOT.INI -h -s -r"
2) "edit c:\boot.ini"
3) After saving the edited file, "ATTRIB C:\BOOT.INI +h +s +r"

Help, I used to use the same thing MSCONFIG to disable
items on start up. I did what was suggested in this post
and there is nothing of the sort. How can I configure
what does start when windows boots? I've got something in
my system tray it's BLUE and the letters EN are inside of
the blue square. When I hover over it, it
says "English". Does anyone know what that is also?
