boot failure XP professionnal

Hi all,

Since couple days I'm facing this problem, when I start my desktop computer
running under Windows XP professionnal, I have the following message :

disk boot failure

So I tried to boot in safe mode and did some check up to end with this
message : "file missing or corrupt : \WINDOWS\AppPatch\drvmain.sdb"

Have anyone met this issue and what do we do to get back this file or to
recover this file from being corrupt ?

Thanks a lot,

Antoine

Hope this helps, Boot up your system, in safe mode if necessary, Put your
XP CD in, close the window that pops up, click on start, run, type cmd.exe
in the box, click ok, at the command prompt type: sfc /scannow (making
sure to put the space before the forward slash) Let it do its thing. This
is the System File Checker. It scans for missing and overwritten system
files.
