Hi Alan,

It sounds like you have a hardware problem. It could be the hard-drive,
motherboard, PSU, or just a loose connection somewhere. If you have another
HDD, try swapping it out and see if it works, if so, that's it. If not, you
will have to track it down, or have a shop do it for you. Take the PC to a
local shop, not one of the chain stores like BestBuy, CompUSA, etc.

LOL, JAX

Hi Jax
I think it is the Hard Drive as i have installed a new one that works ok.
All i want to do is recover some Data that is on it . The Data that i want
to recover is the Maintenence folder for my Web Site, I don't want to have
to rewrite the Site again.
Many thanks for your observations. Alan

You *may* be able to connect old hd as a slave to recover data, depends on
the fault.
If its vital then a hd recovery Company.
I take it next time you will have a backup regime in place?
Depending on the app used you should be able to download your site to hd.

I have tried that but Bios dosen't recognise the Hard Drive.
I did have my Web Site backed up on CD but i can't get that to work. Many
thank for your time . Alan

There are I believe utilities available that *may* be able to recover files
from a damaged cd
