Which is the best software program to control my restaurant bookings?

I would like to enter all table bookings onto my computer. I would also like
to create a database of customers that would automatically update as i book
people in and be linked to the bookings page.

e.g. If I entered John Smith @ 7pm table 1, his phone number would
automatically appear as he was in the database.

Which is the best program to do this in? Can Microsoft access do this?

Microsoft Access is great for such applications.

You can do this with any relational database program. It can easily (at
least by someone who understands the program) be done in Access.
