Book recommendation?

Several years ago, I had a great book called "Moving from
C to C++", its purpose being self-explanatory. More
recently, I had an excellent book frmo the Microsoft Press
called "Programming Visual C++, 5th Edition". It was an
excellent book, although a couple of years out of date,
and they enver revised it, presumably because VS6 was
benig abandoned for VS .NET.

Can anyone recommend a good book for jumping into Windows
programming w/ .NET "hands on"? I really liked this
particular book, because it didn't spend a lot of time of
the funadamentals of programming, as you should (and I
obviously already do) know them, but at the same time, it
spent a lot of tmie going into a fair amount of detail on
the things you "really do" with the language (MFC, in it's
case.)

Another good one I liked was from the MS Press' "Mastering
Series", called "Mastering MFC", although some of its
examples and subjects were left with a number of loose
ends.

If anyone could recommend a good book on this I'd erally
appreciate it, because I need to get up to speed on this
as quickly as possible. Thanks!

This is really the best book I ever read. It is a real pleasure to read and
you can really use it as a reference.

If anyone knows one that could be about the same quality for ASP.NET, just
let me know it.
