Word2007Inside/OutByMurray(etal) 1st four Chps Why aren't there accompanying
exercises to help the reader learn features and skills? Excellent book
indeed, but difficult to follow at times. Chp4 Templates-so hard to follow.
My fav folks at MS, I really apprec your work. Wow! But we need exercises to
learn and practice. Am I learning? Yes. However, so many questions I have.
IANutshell: I purch this book to learn stepbystep howto do things. Yet, I
constantly find myself asking: how can I see this or that working.
I'll be studying and experimenting on my own. But I sure wish there were
interactive examples. Like take this training for Chp 4 Template to see the
differences bet Global and Document Templates and how to work with them.
Seeing things in action makes learning so much easier.
Well, I still loves my people at Microsoft. They're the best!

Because this isn't "Word 2007 Step by Step," which sells for about
half the price.
Excellent book

I've just started reading this book, and I was struck by a table in
the opening pages, showing what they call the new features, version by
version.

I'd have thought "new features" (whether I find them useful or not)
would be things like Footnotes and Endnotes both in one document, or
Grammar Checking, or Track Changes -- but what they call "features"
are nothing but changes in the user interface!

Footnotes and Endnotes in the same document would not be a new feature; Word
has permitted that for as many versions as I can remember.

Thank you grammatim for your suggestion to get Step By Step. I'm awaiting
the delivery of this book. Should arrive within the next few days. I've
looked at it at the bookstore. Seems promising. But too soon to tell.
Anyway, between the two books I've purchased online, I hope to learn more
about this wonderful program. For now, I'm still experimenting with things.
But it's still fuzzy. Don't worry though, I'll tame the lion. Sometimes my
lion can be difficult. But I'll keep 'em in line.

Suzanne: I think your answer may have been meant for another person. But
nice to see people are concerned enough to share helpful stuff.

In any event, I'll try to get back to you all once I've had some time to
review the Step by Step publication.

To all: Have a great day! : )
