Bold dates in Date Navigator

G

Guest

This is a problem of convenience. I am running Outlook 2002 with XP Home.
When I bring up the calendar, none of the dates containing reminders are bold
in the date navigator.

The box is checked to display bold dates in the Calendar's current view
settings.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.

Bolding in the Date Navigator only occurs on days that contain appointments
that are marked as "Busy", "Tentative" or "Out of Office", and that are
within 10 months into the past and 2 months into the future. Appointments
that are further into the past or future will not cause bolding, nor will
appointments or events marked as "Free".

Jocelyn,

Thank you for replying. I meet all the criteria and still the dates are not
bold. For example, on 6 Mar 05 (1 week from now), there is a birthday
reminder. When the event is open it indicates to "show time as busy" and the
6 March date in the Date Navigator is NOT bold. Why? The date is within the
12 month period and it is marked as BUSY.

Any further suggestions may help. Thank you.

In that case, try starting Outlook once with the /CleanFreeBusy switch and
see if that clears up the problem. If you need help using Outlook command
line switches, look here:

Jocelyn,

I tried the /CleanFreeBusy command line switch which failed to generate the
bold dates. Then I tried the /CleanReminders switch and still no luck.

Am I running out of solutions? Thanks.

Unfortunately I don't know of any other solutions, but if I come across
anything I'll post back to this thread.

Jocelyn,

I appreciate your time and advice. Fortunately, as I said, this is a
problem of convenience. It is unlikely my world will collapse without a
solution.

Once again, I'm gracious for your expertise.

Jocelyn,

I have a related problem with Outlook 2000. I get bolded dates when I have
nothing scheduled, and unbolded dates when I have something scheduled. Is
there a command line process for Outlook 2000 that might help me?

Jocelyn,

When I clicked on the link you provided I got the following response:
"The Knowledge Base (KB) Article You Requested Is Currently Not Available".
Can you access it and send it to me?

Mark -- sorry for the delay. The link seems to be working now; please try

Jocelyn,

I tried the link again and got the same not available message. I tried the
/cleanfreebusy switch and nothing changed.

Hello

I am wondering if there is a way to embolden dates in the Date Navigator
further than 10 months into the future?

Mant thanks

Like Boog, I have the same problem, dates do not bold. I tried the
Clean/Free/Busy recommendation (and the CleanReminders), but it did not work.
This problem began only AFTER I installed Service Pack-3 for Outlook 2000
(prior to SP-3, my bolding worked perfectly). By any chance is there a patch
that would include a fix for the bolding problem ? Thank you.

I had the same problem. When I changed the "Show time as" field from "Busy"
to "Tentative", all my dates became bold. Hope this works for you.
