bogus "Microsoft" patches

I have received these bogus "patches" from "Microsoft" for quite some time
now but never in the quantity of the last week or so. From what I am
reading online, most everyone is in the same boat....getting dozens (or
more) per day.

My question is this....Is this going to come to end soon or will these
endless emails be with us from now on? I was hoping it would fade in a day
or two but so far there has been no letup after almost a week.

Thanks

If the machines of your contacts are infected, this will perpetuate the
problem. Do you have to permit attachments? If not, block mail that has
attachments.

I am not getting infected. It is just the nuisance of having dozens of
these sent to me every day!!!!

Steve, I block them to the point that I don't even know if i still get them.
Can you possibly use a similar mechanism?

I have tried several email blockers but they have all failed to impress me
for one reason: whether you go through the emails in your inbox, or the
emails that have been set aside for deletion by some spam removal program,
you run the risk of deleting something that might not be a spam at all.

May I ask what you are using that seems to work so well???

Embarassingly, it is AOL. However, I think MSN has this, too.

.
MSN has a friends feature. You can add your contacts
there and everything else will not show up in your mailbox.

Try MailWasher or MailWasher Pro, It's working very well
it's dele the mail, before u even get it, in your mail box

Will this mass emailing ever stop? or are we having to put up with it and
make spam software companies rich?

You can eliminate most of this by doing the following:

Select Tools>Message Rules>Mail>Mail Rules tab>New button>1: Select the
conditions for your rule: Check "Where the TO line contains people, 2:
Select the action for your rule: Check "Delete it from server", 3: Rule
description, Left click "contains people", enter your email addresses at the
blinking cursor, click on Add, click on the Options button, Select "Message
does not contain the people below", click OK, OK, OK, OK. You're done.
