Hi, I have a Toshiba satelite p100 laptop, cant understand how to use or find
bluetooth. I have Bluetooth Manager at the bottom of my screen, if I go to
control panel ('help' tells me to) there is no Bluetooth Devices.
If I try to add new connection in 'Manager' it says "device not ready".
please can someone help me, users manual not enough info.

Start/run, type REGEDT32
Go to HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\. Delete the following
key: {e0cbf06c-cd8b-4647-bb8a-263b43f0f974}.
Open Device Manager. (run devmgmt.msc) Remove the Bluetooth radio listed
here(if present). Click Action, click Scan for hardware changes. This should
re-enumerate the Bluetooth adapter, using the SP2 drivers.

If no help, my guess would be you do not have a good bluetooth device
installed in the system. It may have become broken. I would find another
system that has bluetooth, and see if your device is found there.

WOW!! youv'e really frightened me here Mark.
I'm a bit worried about deleting things when this laptop is only a few
months old and obviously under warranty.
I would've thought it would have a decent bluetooth in it, of which I have
only just tried to use.
I will try your suggestion but I wouldnt mind a little more convincing.
Thanks very much for your time and help, Buck.

Deleting the driver in device management is done by people all the time. It's
the standard way to improve a corrupt driver. The registry entries are
refreshed by the system on demand, as the driver is installed. Since it is
not working now, it's unlikely the changes would do any harm, if no help.
If you like, you cqn go back to 'last known good' config (f8 on restart for
menu), or use system restore to bring back the registry on failure. Not that
I would recomend it. The changes should put at least that part of the
bluetooth in it's proper order.

Ok, thanks very much Mark, I will try this and heh if no joy I'm not overly
worried as long as everything else is Ok, just wanted to try out the old
bluetooth for fun. Will let you know (when I do it) how I get on.
Thanks again, Buck.
