Bluetooth device selection

Hello,

I am communicating via bluetooth using serial comms, however when I open the
comm port for bluetooth I always get the bluetooth device browser window.
This shows all devices within range. Is there a way to force connection to a
specific device each time without displaying the bluetooth browser?

Thanks

Our BTAccess SDK (mentioned by Peter in the previous email) allows you to
connect directly to a device among other things. But if that's all you want
to do you can get away with using our BTConnect.exe utility which you launch
from your app and test its exit code to see if the connection succeeded.
The difference is in price - the full BTAccess SDK is $750 while the
BTConnect utility is $30.

I have a Dell Axim X30. How do I find out the bluetooth stack it is using?

The quick way is to tap the B icon in the tray of the Today screen. If it
opens up a settings dialog with bluetooth state it is the Microsoft stack,
if you get a popup menu with Bluetooth Settings and Bluetooth Manager
options it is WidComm.

The BROADCOM SDK will work. However, I believe your Bluetooth Manager will
allow you to specify a default outgoing serial connection (advanced Serial
Port) and you can uncheck the "display the device selection screen" option.
I believe you have to at least make one connection to a specific device then
uncheck the box.
