Bluescreen twice daily

N

Nick

This bluescreen error has been repeating itself once or twice daily for
weeks on an updated xp system. The cpu
begins to overwork. Then when it is up to 100% and things are barely
working, the bluescreen appears.

MB and video drivers are current.

Seems, you are lucky:
"1" in 10000050 afaik means "success" with a "reserved" bit set.
(Any third party drivers?)

Thanks for the reply. Well its nice to hear that I'm lucky. What do you mean
by 'any third party drivers?' There are lots of drivers installed. Third
party drivers in place of normal drivers?

I was suspecting a USB keyboard/mouse combo but I don't know how to tell if
it is the cause (having no other keyboard and mouse.

I mean that if I write my own device driver I can make a blue screen
easily
with *any* that 4 magic numbers.

The first of them (10000050 in your case) is recommended to hold an
error code.
Microsoft standard error codes are listed in NTstatus.h file, you may
easily find it.
Other codes driver writer (he is third party) is free to invent, use for
debug purposes, etc.
However, blue screen in a case of driver trap, lists the deriver's
name.

It is highly possible that I'm talking about smth other than your case,
because
your message say: "system error, category 102 ... "

Google returns some 180000+ hints for you case.
This is one:
http://www.techspot.com/vb/all/windows/t-43347-System-Error--Category-102--Event-ID-1003.html
Probably it's better than my advise.
Good luck!
