Blue Screen

I don't know if this is where I should post my problem but if it isn't please
direct it to the correct area. Sometimes when I download pictures to a
CD-RW, I am unable to eject the CD-RW when I am through. When I shut down
the computer to be able to eject the the CD-RW, I get a blue screen that
mentions physical memory and has a lot of other information on it. The
physical memory is dumped and then the computer boots back up. I have a Dell
computer and downloaded the tool to fix drivers. When I do that, it states
that my drivers are all okay. Then I get a screen to report the serious
error to Microsoft and the following message is on it:
Follow these steps to solve the problem with a device driver: You received
this message because a device driver installed on your computer caused
Windows to stop unexpectedly. This type of error is referred to as a "stop
error." A stop error requires you to restart your computer. What can I do to
correct this problem? Would appreciate help on this. I hope there is an
easy solution to this as I don't understand a lot of the technical about a
computer. Thank you!

Try this. Do not Download Pictures directly to the CD. Download them to
your harddrive, and then Copy them to the CD, I suspect the problem
revolves around whatever software you are using for your "R/W drag and
drop" and a background connection to the original source of the
pictures. This would cause problems that the Operating System has no
control over and then the software crashes.

Thanks for your quick reply. I download them from the digital camera to a
folder in My Documents. When I get ready to download them to the CD-RW I use
DLA as I already have pictures on the CD-RW and don't want to lose them. I
had downloaded one set of pictures to a CD-RW and was able to eject the disc
but when I did the second set of pictures to another CD-RW and got ready to
eject it that is when the computer shut down. Am not sure how to do what
you suggested. I do appreciate your help. Thanks!

A copy of the Stop Error message would be helpful.

Have a look in the System and Application logs in Event Viewer for Errors
and Warnings and post copies here. Don't post any more than 48 hours ago.

You can access Event Viewer by selecting Start, Control Panel,
Administrative Tools, and Event Viewer. When researching the meaning
of the error, information regarding Event ID, Source and Description
are important.

A tip for posting copies of Error Reports! Right click on the Report in the
list and select Properties. In the window, which appears are three buttons
towards the top right of the window. The top one has an arrow up, underneath
is an arrow down and third is a button resembling two pages. Click the
button and close Event Viewer. It is not obvious but this action places a
copy of the report in your Clipboard. Now start your message (email) and do
a paste into the body of the message. Make sure this is the first paste
after exiting from Event Viewer.

Hope this helps.

No you are using the software as the vendor intended. In the blue screen
there should be an error number and a bunch of code data followed by the
the file name that caused the issue. You could supply that and we could
look things up from that. Or you could try replacing that drag and drop
software with a newer version or maybe a patch from the vendor.
