Hi,

That error message indicates a driver issue. Troubleshooting it can be
lengthy. Check that your hardware and the drivers for it meet the
compatibility list:

ftp://ftp.microsoft.com/services/whql/hcl/winxphclx86.txt

hi,
thanks for your help. I have scrolled through the
requirements list (finally!) but it seems my system has
met all the requirements. IO have been told that it might
have something to do with the heat of the CPU but i am
not sure. Can you help?

Hi,

It's not a heat issue, it's a driver issue. Try the clean boot articles, as
you need to isolate which is causing it.

What is happening is that those games are trying to switch the display
to some mode that the video driver does not support properly. Getting a
update version of the driver from the makers *might* help; or see if
there is any way to control the mode the games run in.
