Blue screen error IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

My computer keeps getting these blue screen errors while doing the simplest
things like on the internet. It gives me this error

IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
STOP:0x0000000A (0x000A005C, 0x00000002, 0x00000001, 0x804DBC8E)

Has anyone gotten this error or know what's causing the problem and how to
fix it?

I too have been getting this. Ive ran scandisk, disc clean-up, virus scan,
everything. I reformatted here just recently. During this process, my system
shutdown unexpectedly. Forcing the re-install of vista home 32 all over again.

After a successfull completed install, i am still getting this blue screen.
I think it has something to do with a virus undetected yet and its harboring
itself in the bios of systems. Im not sure and could really use some
assistance with this as well. Im clueless on what more to do.

After a clean install and you still have problems.

Some BIOSs have a built in virus detect feature
but may be disabled in your case.

More likely it's a hardware problem.

Also check for BIOS updates and flash the
latest BIOS version if you think its a BIOS issue.

This is a Windows XP not Vista newsgroup. The techniques for diagnosing
errors in Vista are similar but the interface is a lot different. I
would doubt that you have a malware problem. The Stop Error can be
caused by a faulty or incompatible device driver, system service, virus
scanner,backup tool or BIOS.

Hope this helps.
