Block friends

if they blocked you in Messenger, then they always appear Offline.
maybe if you are always Online and they always appear Offline, but
formerly he used to chat with you every day, then that might be a sign.
like that boy who used to call you every day, and now never calls you,
and every time you call now you just get voice mail.

time to move on and get a new life.

Send out a New Years greeting by email and see how many get returned as
undeliverable..

Go to Tools>Options>Privacy right-click on the contacts name. If the
"Delete" option is NOT greyed out then you contact has blocked you.

Not necessarily, that shows they have been deleted you but it doesn't mean
they also blocked you.
You can check blocking here: http://triople.msnfanatic.net/
Well, it only works when the box in tools - options - privacy - only
people in my allow list can see my status... is not ticked by that person
who you are checking.

that would only prove the Email address no longer exists, but does not
prove whether or not the Messenger ID (.Net passport ID) still exists.

for example, my Email address does not match my Messenger logon ID (.Net
Passport ID), because long ago, i deleted the Email account used to
create my Messenger logon ID, got a new Email address, and kept my old
Messenger logon ID.

i don't mean to challenge you, but are you sure it checks blocking ?
i ask because the web site says it only checks if an account is online
or offline, and further states it does not indicate "users blocking the
account entered" (whatever that means).

It is possible to see if they have removed you from their contact list by
clicking the "View" button under privacy. Generally if someone blocks you
they will also remove you from their list. This, however, is not always the
case.

If you think you are being blocked, then you probably are.

I would not advocate creating another account and trying to use it (people
can see through that), but it may work...depends upon whether or not the
other person is gullable (maybe that was mentioned in another thread I read
today).
