Bleeping Unwanted Sounds

I have seen this question answered in the recent past, but can't locate it now.
When making a movie, how do I "bleep" an unwanted word or sound from the
soundtrack clip taken from camcorder or VCR? Thanks.

split the clip just before and after the spot.... mute the audio by a right
mouse click on it > Mute... and then add another sound at the spot with a
clip on the Audio/Music track.

Audacity is a great audio utility... use it to generate a tone for the
bleeping noise.... there's a link on my Setup > Other Software page.
