blank window

I get a blank window popping up on my screen. the screen
has a cursor dot that moves rapidly all over the window.
The "window" sends a message to the printer which prints
out loads of blank paper. The window has the name of
C:/documen~1/JohnHA~1/temp/surfain1.exe When I try to
turn it off I get a message that Windows cannot end this
programme.

I have also had a window C:/WINDOWS/system32/ntvdm.exe.

I have run a virus etc scan on line with symantec, but it
tells me that I do not have a virus.

Anybody got any ideas. many thanks

Have you virus checked your system with the latest definitions for your AV
program? You might like to check for any spyware that may be on your system
with the following programs:

Spybot - http://www.safer-networking.org/
CWShredder - http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/downloads.html

The Sasser virus infects "ntvdm.exe" - run an up-to-date AV program.

Hi John I have the same on start up a balck box with System 32 in it. I have deleted a few files suggested by Sophos.com but still it comes up and asks if I want to connect to my internet server. Is it the same if so have u sorted it out yet.If I do i will get back to u
