Hi,
Since last friday, when I try to read my emails, I can't.
Outllok starts normally, my emails appears but in the reading panel, nothing
appear but the window that is behind Outlook.
If I open a message, I can't see anything but the window that is behind that
message window.
Hope someone can understand what I mean...
I tried to uninstall the reinstall Outlook without success.
Anybody can help me ?

What version of Outlook? Unless I hear otherwise, I'll assume you're running
Outlook 2007.

I'm not sure I completely understand what you mean. On a "common" setup,
going from left to right; you have your Navigation Pane, Message List, and
then the Reading Pane (Preview Pane).

What I'm getting out of this is: Your messages are all showing-up in the
Message List. However, you can't see the actual body of the message in the
Reading Pane. When you open the message, you still can't see the actual body
of the message.

Do I have this right? Or, are you saying there is some Window popping-up
behind the main Outlook Window and the message Windows when you open a
message? If so, what is that Window titled? Is there an error or something
on that Window?

If the issue is the message body is no longer displaying in the Reading Pane
or when you open a message, I need to ask if you're using some type of
anti-virus scanner that is hooking into e-mail. I believe AVG is the popular
culprit. There is a "Certify Mail" option in AVG we want to disable.

If there is no AV scanner in-play here (AVG or otherwise), open one of these
"blank" messages. In the Office Ribbon, select Other Actions | Edit Message.
Now, select the Options tab above the Ribbon. What format is highlighted
here? Plain Text, HTML, or Rich Text? If it's either of the latter two
formats, try selecting Plain Text (Select Continue on the warning box). Can
you see the body of the message now?

Hi Patrick,

Excuse my english... as you can see, I usually speak french :-(

Here is my situation, like you explained it:
What I'm getting out of this is: Your messages are all showing-up in the
Message List. However, you can't see the actual body of the message in the
Reading Pane. When you open the message, you still can't see the actual
body of the message.

I use Outlook 2007.

In the body message, I see what is behind Outlook (Ex.: If I open a message
and the message open over the Windows XP wallpaper, in the body of the
message, I see tha part of the Windows XP wallpaper behind that section.

I use McAfee VirusScan Entreprise 8.7.0i but I completely uninstall it and
my issue is already there.

I tried what you suggest to me but nothing changed.

Any other suggestions ?

That's wild. So the message body isn't just the same color as your
wallpaper - it's transparent?

Here's a stab in the dark -- Right click the Windows Taskbar and select
"Task Manager". Select the Processes tab and click on Image Name to sort the
processes alphabetically. Do you by chance have a process running named,
"ipssvc.exe"?

N

Normand

Yes, the body of the message is transparent when I open the email. After
that, if I move the message window, it keeps that state.
Yes I see that IPSSVC.EXE process.

Ok. I found a few posts out there specifically referencing that IPSSVC
service - IPS Core Service on IBM machines. It has something to do with a
VPN client for a specific service provider or something.

Select Start | Run

Enter services.msc

Select OK.

Scroll through the list of services until you find that IPS Core Service.
Double click on it. Select Stop, and then change the Startup type to
Disabled. Check Task Manager again to ensure that IPSSVC.EXE process is no
longer running. You may need to restart Outlook and/or restart the machine.

Please let me know if that fixes it. I'm rather curious.

All I know (from reading some old posts out in other groups on the 'Net) is
it's a VPN client service found in Lenovo Thinkpad.

Glad your problem was solved. You might find it useful to use the French
language newsgroups. microsoft.public.fr.outlook is for Outlook.

It could be useful if someone have the hability to answer my issue... :-( so
for now, it is not very useful...
I post my problem in the Outlook french forum and I didn't receive any
answer at that time.
Maybe english people are better than french :)

Hi!
Mostly this situatin happens when....
You have opened the File box and then...
You have marked OFFLINE line active (mark on left side)

Your post will work really fine again when you press
this line again with left mouse button, and when
OFFLINE ends, AND outlook has again access to read messages from your service provider!!
Try and win
