Black and White

Justin

Still working on playing it.
I've downloaded v1.2 patch and installed. The game now
runs without any complications. But, I can't PLAY the
game... whenever I click anywhere on the screen the game
minimizes to my desktop. I open it back up to find simply
a black screen, click again and it closes.
Thanks for your help in getting this far, and thanks
again for any more help you can give me!

Hi Justin,

Please try to reply to the original message so others can follow
and chime in with suggestions that haven't already been made. :)

"EGMcCann posted this advice previously:
1. Windows XP is "NT 5.1," so you are indeed "running Windows NT."
2. Install. Download latest patch for Black and White. Install patch.
3. If needed, run in compatibility mode after installing the patch.

It will work, but NEEDS the latest patch, on XP."

Did you try compatibility mode as he suggested? If not, here's how it works...
To run an installed program using Windows XP's Compatibility Mode,
first right click the program and "Send To..." / Desktop (create shortcut).

1.. Right click on the shortcut to the program.
2.. Click on Properties.
3.. Click on the Compatibility tab.
4.. Click on Run this program in compatibility mode and select one of these:
a.. Windows 95
b.. Windows 98
c.. Windows NT 4
d.. Windows 2000
5.. Under Display settings, check mark the mode that you think that is best:
a.. Run in 256 colors.
b.. Run in 640 X 480 screen resolution.
c.. Disable visual themes.

Click on Apply.Click on Ok.Double click on the program.

If you'd like to learn more information about compatibility mode, you can click the
link in the Compatibility tab that says Learn more about program compatibility

Sorry. I hadn't gotten any responces so I posted a new
one hoping for a little more attention. lol
Anyway, currently the only trouble I'm having with Black
and White is that I cannot click anywhere on the screen.
If I do, the game minimizes, restores to a black screen,
and then closes when I click again. So, how do I fix
this? Compatability? I haven't tried those yet but I
probably should. Duh! I will but in the mean time if you
have a solution for me help! Thanks!
