Bizzare question....

Hi all!!

I'm just curious if you guys experienced your mouse cursor moving by itself,
without touching anything on your mouse-- I'm experiencing it right now
whenever I'm connected to the internet.

I'm kinda scared as to whether this type of problem is an indication that my
PC is hacked.

I have Norton Firewall and Norton Antivirus which is always up-to-date.

Please help!

Thanks!

Most likely cause by a faulty video card or video card adapter.
Are the latest Windows XP drivers installed for both your
video card and mouse?

Another possibility. Is the mouse wireless? We had a prank where someone
made sure that two mice were using the same channel to talk to the PC.
Then a person in the next cube would make the cursor "mysteriously" move

Clean out the rollers under the mouse. Also this might happen to some
electronic glitch in the mouse. Try pulling the plug out and putting it
back.

My mouse acted up mysteriously too. I put in another mouse and it worked
fine. Then I put in the older one and it started working fine...

Just my experience.... try and see!! Cheers..

You got some good suggestions already so will just toss this in: Does your
typing cause enough vibration to make the mouse move? A nice cushy mousepad
is still useful with optical mice for this reason.

I get simliar problems from typing or the mouse cord will drag the
mouse.

Also I have a wireless hookup, not the mouse, Broadband.
From time to time I fail to connect properly and the mouse stutters
all over the screen.
I sometimes have to reboot and unplug the USB wireless adapter to get
control of the mouse.

When I leave my computer running, after a short time all my icons disappear. The only way to find them is to shut computer down with switch. Nothing will work. Any suggestions? Thanks
