BIOS flash within XPe?

Hi,

maybe not exactly the right group, but maybe anyone here knows a
solution.

We are providing our updates to the customer with completely new CF
cards, new version of our app on it, and the whole XPe, as sometimes
we change some stuff, drivers, additional languages and such.

Now I am looking for a possibility to flash the customers BIOS in this
situation; best would be some windows based flasher, that is able to
flash a award 6 BIOS during the first boot. We use this first boot
also to flash our external device, so this would be the right place to
include it. Also we would like to recognize what hardware the user
exactly has, to flash the BIOS depending on the result. (4 HW versions
are out in the wild)

The problem is that the manufacturer supplied BIOS flasher
(awdflash.exe) is a DOS app that only wants to run within a plain DOS
environment.

Any ideas out there?

No, I do not really expect an answer - usually they just tell to ask
the manufacturer, but the manufacturer only has the DOS tool. I will
give it a try, thank you!

Advantech did provide a GUI BIOS Flash tool called ePlatformFlash under XP
Pro/XP Embedded.
