I recommend visiting the forums at nforcershq.com and read up on the
history of this problem. There are people who swear by certain
procedures, such as pulling the power at a certain point, or plugging
in a different processor etc, but the last time I read the posts over
there, the conclusion was reflashing the BIOS chip always fixed it.

To reflash, you have several options:

1) "Hot" flashing, by using a second board that uses the same kind
of PLCC flash chip. With the PLCC form factor for EEPROM chip,
this is kinda hard to do, as swapping a dual-in-line (DIP) packaged
chip is a lot easier. I don't recommend doing this, because it
is too easy to damage the chip and/or the donor board's EEPROM
socket.
2) Use a BIOS Savior. But for that to work, the backup EEPROM on the
BIOS Savior has to be programmed _before_ the failure. The
ioss.com.tw site lists places to buy, and Eksitdata has a programming
service, where they will program the PMC4 BIOS Savior before it
leaves their site. By using that product with a BIOS burned into it,
you recover from this problem, and have a solution for later
similar occurrences (dual BIOS).
3) Visit www.badflash.com and buy a replacement pre-programmed
PLCC flash chip.

Paul
