A long story short:
F8 key in order to boot into safe mode does NOT appear to function...can't
figure it out...it didn't change from Win2K to WinXP
Summary of prob is as follows that I posted re: the software I had installed
-Partition Commander
any help would be appreciated.
Thank you,

I recently (last night) installed Partition Commander in order to partition
an internal drive that I acquired and that I housed in one of those external
casing units...
everyone needs extra space right? 60 free GBs is quite alright.
P. Commander installed fine....the drive unit is formatted and ready for
partitioning...
I'm reasonably sure I have the right version number listed.
The BIG PROBLEM is that I uncharacteristically did not read the instructions
and did not create a bootdisk. Crap.
So now upon the boot sequence that has been altered, I get nothing but a
grey screen as I don't have a boot disk so I can't continue the partitioning
process...big OOPS.
upon restarting, I get the message, "P. Commander was not shut down
properly, we suggest you start in Safe mode....blah, blah, blah"
Another problem is that trying to enter safe mode using F8 key is NOT
working for some reason. As far as I know, Safe mode key has not changed from
Windows 2000 to Windows XP Professional...
Of course the Partition Commander software is on my master hard
drive...can't access it, so I can't make the boot disk?
I have downloaded the app from the microsoft site in order to make the
bootable floppys. Is that my only option or can someone suggest a better
alternative? Thanks for your time and assistance.
