best 3840x2400 DVI 2D card?

i have an IBM T221 <www-132.ibm.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=-840&langId=-1&partNumber=9503DG3&storeId=1>
on which i need to display static images at full resolution, as sharp
and as stable as possible.
which of the radeon cards would be the best for this purpose? which
version (8500/9000/9800/pro or not/etc) and also which manufacturer
(sapphire, hercules, ati etc)?
i know they are all able to drive it at 15Hz over a single DVI-I
connector.

is there a difference between the radeons and the firegl cards in 2D
picture quality? IBM recommends firegl4, but i wouldn't like to give
away so much money for whatever 3D features it has that i don't
need...
thanks,
danijel

I think the pro cards are recommended because you can use the dual DVI
connectors to each run half the display, though apparently at the cost of
imperfect timing of screen refreshes across the two DVI channels.

thanks andy,
i don't need perfect timing, 'cause i'll be just displaying very, very
static images, one at a time.
i just got an advice through e-mail, that i should use radeon 8500 or
9700 for that purposes (i suppose they are, for some reason, better
than, or the same as the rest of the radeon models, at least in 2D pic
quality).
reading all the newsgroups, reviews, pricelists, i had my eyes on
those two for the last few days, so this is good enough for me - i'll
go and buy today.
someday, when i have money, if i feel the need, i may upgrade to one
of the firegl-s.
