Belkin USB 2 + Firewire PCI card F5U508ea + Windows XP - data error

Roger

I have just tried to install the above PCI card into a spare slot on
my Windows XP - SP1 system.

When it boots up it recognises the usb + firewire, but when it tries
to add new hardware I get a 'data' error for both.

Tried adding the drivers from the cd-rom but they fail to load. Tried
adding latest drivers from Belkin.com - they fail to run.

Ran a windows update and added everything apart from sp2.

Emailed belkin - no reply.

Life shouldn't be this hard.

Roger,
You can try another pci slot (farther away from the agp slot) but I
don't want to give you false hope. The SP2 drivers for firewire, imho,
are not up to snuff yet. I've had to block the SP2 drivers from loading
on my other two computers that have firewire. This computer that has a
pci usb/firewire card combo is still running SP1, so I know it still
works. (DV camera & external F.wire drive)
There are a couple of patches from MS out there, but they don't seem to
work. If you can't resolve this problem post back and we'll try to fix
it.
