Be able to access outlook folders from other Office Apps

I have extensive folders in both outlook and my documents that contain
information on identical topics. I would like to have just one topical set of
folders that contain both outlook documents and office documents.

One can store Office documents in outlook folders, but cannot access then
from outside outlook - so for example if I open a powerpoint doc stored in
outlook by opening it in the outlook folder, and then want to insert an excel
spreadsheet, I am unable to do so because Powerpoint does not permit access
back into the outlook folders.

Having access to outlook folders from the windows explorer and the file
functions of the other office apps would permit a sensible non-redundant
filing system.

Are the Folders PST or Exchange..

I doubt anyone would assist with that..
You'd either need Explorer to act like a Mapi client, if on Exchange..
Or it act like a database app that opens PSTs..
Both of which Outlook does..

Why don't you do ther reverse, it's easy and gives you what you are asking
just not the way your asking about.

Create a shortcut to the Windows folder or if in My Documents put it in the
left corner of your destop, viewable when Outlook is open.
When you recieve or see a message to be stored in various folers, drag it
and drop it into the proper folder. All related conent is then stored
together.
If you folder has a large hierachy, arrange it tall and narrow so when open,
dozens of folders line up on the left inch or so of your desktop each time it
is opened.
