Right click on the shortcut and run as administrator.

If you want it to always run as an administrator, go to properties ->
compatibility -> check run as an admin.

Also, if you are awared user, you can turn off UAC (Control Panel\User
Accounts).
After that I have many problems less.

Turning off User Account Control globally removes all the security benefits
of limited priveldges for your entire system no matter what you are doing.

Learn how to use UAC. Don't just turn it off.

Many programs don't cooperate with UAC - I had several problems with no
access to given catalogues.
I think that awared PC user can turn it off. Security level will at least
the same as with Windows XP.

Many programs have been fixed with appcompat solutions so that they do in
fact work with UAC active. You should be filing bugs if you find
applications that don't work with UAC active. Even for those applications
that require you run as administrator, you can do that with a shortcut
change instead of opting out of one of the most radically improved security
features of the entire OS.

Couldn't agree more.

UAC is a pain, its more off a pain when you first install your OS as that's
when you are going to get most of the popup.

When not have a 'turn off for 1 hour' or 'turn off until next login'

I know its too late for this now, but maybe a UAC power toy will come out.

Saying all this, UAC is off on my lappy, I will go turn it back on :p
