I have a small network of five XP users sharing a 56k dialup connection.
Obviously, this is a sub-optimal situation, but it's not about to change
anytime soon. Windows Update, in this situation, is not good. For one thing,
the cheap ISP keeps on trying to terminate the connection, which is hell
when there's some 5.1 Mb critical patch to download. Microsoft seems to
envisage Windows Update as the only solution for small offices, but it can't
be. Is there any easy way to download all the XP patches from after SP1 on
my fast connection from home, burn them to CD, and apply them at work? Do I
have to write down all the MS bulletin numbers from the security bulletins
and go to those pages, or is there some easier way?
Sincerely, Jonathan Cohen
