BANNERS

I have used Front Page for at least six years +/- and now am using XP with
FP 2002. I have never had problems publishing pages with images and banners
until the last site I designed. It has affiliate banners and for some
reason only the outline appears on some computers and others they appear OK.
I have checked this out on different computers and it is obvious that you
can´t see all the banners on all computers while although everything is
showing fine in my computer in Preview.

Please help me correct this.

Thank you for any help you may have to offer..

Are the computers that can't see it running any type of ad or popup stopper applications?

It sounds like you are using the Banner Ad Manager. This
creates a Java applet which displays the images. XP and
subsequent releases do no ship with the Java Virtual Machine
installed, so those machines will either have to download it
from Sun.

This same reason is why it is no longer recommended to use
hover buttons.

Popup stoppers and spyware programs will often prevent
the viewing of images that have the word AD or BANNER in
the file name. You may also get a stack overun
error....from these problems. change all file names from
banner and ad to something else. Tell those that are
getting the "bad" view to disable their "ad" software and
then take a look at the site.
