bad password count automatically reset

J

Josh Burkey

We have someone (outside of the organization) trying to
login and keeps getting the account locked out. Somehow
they are able to reset the bad password counter and keep
trying. They are using the same user account every time
and it is happening quite a lot. Can anybody help me on
this issue?

Thanks,
Josh

How are they trying to logon?? It might help to check your firewall
configuration to see if you can block the attempts. If the computer they are
trying to access has local accounts and they are trying to hack a local account,
that computer may have a different lockout policy than what is configured for
the domain. You could run net accounts on that machine to see what it
eports. --- Steve
