bacth AAC conversion

Im using the windows version of itunes with my 40gig ipod and started
out feeling that (because I have mild audiophile tendencies) Id
convert to AAC at the highest rate imaginable (320) now the ipod is
getting a bit full and im feeling i overdid it and that something a
bit less would do just as well and give me back some space - I don't
want to start again going through the record collection - does anyone
know of a utility that will batch convert files from one AAC rate to
another?

Hi, Converting one compressed AAC file to a lesser amount of compression
will *not* higher the audio quality of the music. It will *decease* it.
Re-rip the files or leave them the way they are.

No i understand that the quality will go down - but think i could live with
something less in exchange for more songs on the ipod - id like to convert
down to nearer 200ish beacuse on the ipod i probably wouldnt notice the
difference and would gain more space
