Backup Utility

I have a Gateway Computer running Win XP Home edition completly up to date.
The home edition does not have the backup utility installed and I have been
informed that to install it just insert the WinXP disc in and install.
Well, with Gateway all you get is a recovery disc, anyone know a work around
to this situation?

You can download the installation file from this site:

Good luck

Windows Backup is not really the best way to back up an entire system, but
then it wasn't designed with full system backup in mind..

It will, of course, back up file sets, user stuff without a hitch.. but then
so will Nero, and direct to CD..

If you mean the NT backup utility: Just insert the disk, open and go to
VALUEADD\MSFT. here you will find it.
